Forever young

Pink parrot print bikini | USA flag denim shorts | Multi print wedge sandals | Multi coloured parrot print vest | Mint green sheer sleeveless dress | Rainbow coloured dipped hem maxi dress | Floral zip front bralet | White and turquoise lace short | Aztec print gilet | Penguin shortie pyjama set | Pastel aztec print jersey skater dress | Candy neon garland All from newlook.com

Children and teens these days dress up surprisingly stylishly, with the likes of celebrity babies such as Suri Cruise heading the bunch. Honestly, when I was younger, I wore denim floral overalls and Doctor Martens shoes, courtesy of my mum's styling. But as we grow older and become the main decision makers of our own outfits, I think I got a little off in my teenage years and wore mostly t-shirt and shorts... Such a waste of my youth *sighs* As social media evolves and people come into contact with the Internet earlier, the young 'uns would be more easily involved and influenced in the latest trends. As a result, take a look at the new collections of New Look or other retail stores and you can see that children/teens clothing have become more and more influenced by the latest trends -- Pastels, floral, dip-dye etc.

Which makes me all the more excited as these clothing would be priced lower with the same styling as you would find in a women's clothing line, albeit with a playful touch. And thank goodness my body has stopped growing since 13 and I can wear their 13-15 y/o clothing.

I found all the pieces above from New Look, some of which are on sale! Aren't they quite stylish and acceptable for a 20-year-old to wear? (Please say yes so I don't feel like a child...) The floral bralet was manufactured in the exact same design for adults but I guess the smaller version would provide a better fit for people who are more petite. And penguin PJs! No one will judge you when you are sleeping in your own room anyway and you can feel like a child again.

Can you guess which ones I would purchase? Also, which are your favourite pieces?

Ice-cream pastels

edit: I just got Bloglovin', do follow if you wish :)

I was looking through ASOS and found these Polyvore-esque images off their Fashion Finder, which consists of outfits created by stock images of items that are sold on the website. What an ingenious way of getting people to purchase their items by creating outfits, putting into perspective how the item would look like paired with another!

And I'm sure one would want to purchase the whole outfit instead seeing how pretty everything is coordinated, like how I was tempted many a time...

Florals! Prints! Pastels! Need I say anymore? On the other hand, I imagine wearing the thick sweater out in the heat like in the magazine cut-out... Induces fainting spells just by thinking of it.

I think I stopped breathing a little. Too saccharine sweet but I love pastels, so this is just a colour appreciation photo because the photo doesn't make outfit sense.

*steals blazer from photo* One thing I don't get is how do people coordinate the colours so perfectly.
Finally an outfit that has pieces I do own and can wear out. Love the backpack though the colour scheme looks a little out of place.

To be honest I'm writing this post because my laptop has been sent for repair and I need my Photoshop to edit photos. I have so many posts lined up, including possibly a giveaway!

Which is your favourite set? :)

I close my eyes to see it better

So today I went to collect my loots from Taobao. For the uninitiated, it is a wonderland/haven/treasure trove of goodies, runway-inspired clothing etc etc. for a fraction of the price. Everything is amazing until you realise the only caveat is that everything is in Chinese... Yeah. They're all Made in China but the quality is comparable to normal retail/online shops, especially if you know where to get your stuff.

Here's 1/5 of what I got: Bunny Ninja pouch for my Fujifilm Instax (yeah, justifying my purchases), $4
Minty iPhone cover $3
Yellow ribbon iPhone 'hole protector' (lol) $0.80
Circle shades $3

Yup, flea market prices.

Cutest bow 'hole protector' for my iPhone! I have absolutely no idea what that is supposed to be called.

Today I also got drenched in the rain and splashed from top to toe by a passing, no wait, zooming car. It was like a wave from the sea hit me.

I also read and re-read Seventeen by Colin Cheong again and again. Just realised that I was 17 when I randomly pulled this book out from my school library. It was thinner than the others, so I figured why not give it a shot. Then, so many beautiful phrases. A moving, poignant story of life in a Junior College in Singapore. I cried, because I could relate to so much. And my favourite sentences are those that I photoshopped a highlight on above.

Because memories are not exactly how things were. Sometimes we add, dramatise or block out some images. Photos are exact moments of our memories. Which is an irony because they can be the most tangible yet intangible at the same time. But as long as we can make the best out of what we have, those memories would be beautiful, no matter what.

Polyvoring

Been on Polyvore which, for the uninitiated, is a website where you can create looks based on stock photos of clothing. Kind of like a mood-board of fashion. It's very addictive and fun! Although I must say that my skill of piecing looks together isn't very good... So I'm better off browsing different looks for inspiration!

Here are a few that I've found, posting here for some inspiration on my future looks:

Beige&White

Beige&White by sundarialbina featuring RED Valentino shorts

This is just totally amazing. Yes sometimes I wonder how people are able to find items that perfectly complement each other although they are from different retailers. Love the bag! I think I know where to get it but I already have like 120591025 bags :(

Inspired by London! Sadly I won't be studying/living there even though I applied to study in the UK... More on that later.

Yes. I'm always a sucker for florals and colourful stuff. Blame it on the child in me. Also, the 'top' of this romper is actually another romper itself! In that case how am I supposed to wear the scallop shorts over?

This set reminds me of equestrian... I think it's the shades of leather brown in the shoes and bag. Love how the flowy chiffon contrasts with the stiffness of the jacket and the leather stuff, but the whole look is very well-executed together. Wish I could piece together something like that! *sigh*

What is your favourite polyvore look from the ones above? Do you have a polyvore account as well?
